What causes greasy hair?

Greasy hair is caused when the sebaceous glands produce an excess of sebum, which then covers the entire hair, weighing it down and giving it an unattractive greasy appearance. There are a number of reasons for this excess production of sebum; the cause may be hormonal or simply due to bad habits such as running your hands through your hair too often.

What can you do about greasy hair?

It is essential to choose a shampoo that is suited to your needs. The Phytema™ natural and organic shampoo for greasy hair cleanses the scalp and, thanks to its sebum-regulating action, manages the production of sebum by the sebaceous glands. 

It is also important to avoid overly activating the sebaceous glands, by taking care not to towel-dry your hair too vigorously and by not over-styling your hair. Also, avoid washing your hair too often, as the more you wash your hair, the more sebum will be produced. Try to extend the gap between washes so as to regulate this cycle.
