Phytema™ Laboratoires offers a skin care serum made with natural and organic ingredients, to look after your face in a natural way.
What does a serum do?
First of all, a serum is cosmetic product containing a great quantity of active ingredients, in a much higher concentration than in a cream. This is why serums are usually available in vials with a pipette, as just a few drops suffice! Serums come in liquid form and penetrate the skin quickly, unlike a cream that forms a barrier to protect the skin.
Another benefit of a serum is that it prepares the skin to receive other skin care products. A serum will awaken the skin, so that it draws maximum benefits from your day cream. This is why a serum is used in addition to a day cream.
Characteristics of a serum
Today, the characteristics of a serum are as varied as those of creams, but this was not always the case. Initially designed for mature skin, the most widely available serums were to combat ageing and age spots. Today, however, there are moisturising serums and even some with anti-acne effects.
