Phytema™ Laboratoires offers a range of body exfoliators made with natural and organic extracts, to remove dead skin cells and reveal the fresh and healthy skin beneath.
The body is constantly renewing its cells, with the renewal cycle taking more or less time for different parts of the body. On average, it is estimated that it takes 21 days for the skin to renew itself entirely. If the cycle is shorter than this, we see what is known as severe desquamation. The dead cells are visible in the hair (dandruff) and may also be seen on all parts of the body.
The purpose of exfoliating is to remove all of the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Exfoliating allows the new cells to breathe and develop healthily. There is also a visual benefit, as the skin is brighter and clearer.
When to exfoliate?
It is important to avoid excessive exfoliation, as you risk damaging your skin. Once a week is largely sufficient to see the effects of a natural and organic exfoliator. It is advisable to apply the product to slightly damp skin, using small circular movements. Avoid the eye contour area, as the skin is more sensitive. Focus in particular on the T-zone, which tends to be more oily. Finally, don't forget to moisturise after exfoliating, to help your skin recover quickly and to keep it in good condition.
